BioMedIT includes a team of security experts who work to ensure that the environment and the B-spaces in it remain secure. These experts also provide consultancy and resources to support the protection of the overall environment.
One key security activity is performing security checks on software and containers which researcher wish to bring into their B-spaces. This allows them to use their selected tools securely, and grows the range of software and containers available to other researchers.
The security team also maintains a set of security resources including:

- Encrypted data transfer tools
- Container security guidelines
- User security training and clearance
